Frequently Asked Questions
Are you wheelchair accessible?
We make every effort to be as accessible as possible, but we are in an older building and its design can pose some challenges. Call ahead of your appointment with any specific accommodations you might need is really helpful.
Are translators available?
We do not have translators on site, but are willing to make reasonable accommodation. We require a week’s notice to schedule an interpreter for an appointment. Please call us for arrangements.
Do you take my insurance?
We can bill acupuncture treatments directly to select insurance carriers, and for other services can provide itemized receipts for you to submit for reimbursement. Your benefits will depend on your specific plan. Visit the New Patient Page for more details on insurance.
Where can I park?
We do not have a designated lot for clients. There are stretches of street parking near the center- as for anywhere in DC, always check the posted signs. Should you have trouble finding parking, there is a garage across the street for the grocery store on 8th and 0 St, which will validate for up to 2 hours with a purchase from that grocery store.
What if I need to cancel my appointment?
To ensure fairness for our practitioners and other clients, we ask for 24 hours advance notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Canceling or rescheduling within 24 hours of your appointment time, or missing the appointment, will result in a late cancel fee of half the appointment value– discounts and insurance coverage do not apply. We may make exceptions for emergencies or illness, but encourage you to think ahead and give us as much advance notice as possible. Cancelling via email or phone message is acceptable even outside of business hours. Thanks for your cooperation!
Do you offer gift certificates?
Absolutely! We offer customizable gift certificates of any amount in our store under the Resources tab. You’ll need to be a logged in member of our site to access the store, so if you haven’t done that yet, go ahead and do that now by clicking the Log In button in the main menu.
Which of your services do I need?
Most of our services address the same concerns but from different approaches. Every body is different, so we recommend you start with what resonates most to you first and go from there. Many of our clients choose to pursue a combination of therapies in their healing journey. We encourage you to discuss this with your therapist, but do not offer a separate consultation outside of treatments.
Do you carry CBD?
A high-quality full spectrum organic hemp extract from NuLeaf Naturals is available during reception hours.
Are your services appropriate during pregnancy?
Acupuncture is available for all of pregnancy and is frequently sought for labor induction.
Prenatal Massage is available during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy.
